The University of Saskatchewan (USask) is one of Canada’s oldest and most distinguished universities, known for its two Nobel Prize winners, one Prime Minister of Canada, nine provincial premiers, three Supreme Court Justices, and five Olympic gold medalists.
Located in Saskatoon on the South Saskatchewan River, the historic main campus is one of the most beautiful in Canada, with plenty of green space, stately greystone buildings and tree-lined walkways.
Close to 25,000 students from 109 countries attend USask, which offers over 130 academic programs and has 13 colleges, three graduate schools, and six affiliated or federated colleges. USask is home to diverse programs ranging from agriculture, business, law, and arts and science, to engineering, health-related sciences including medicine and veterinary medicine, and many others.
As a member of the U15 Group of Canadian research-intensive universities, USask has some of the best research facilities in the country, including Canada’s only synchrotron, world-class institutes for food and water security, International Vaccine Centre, Crop Development Centre, and the Health Sciences Complex. USask leads the world’s largest university-led international freshwater research program, Global Water Futures, with more than 170 partners around the world.
Known for collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches, USask is also the choice of over 4,000 graduate students. USask offers more than 80 fields of study for graduate and postdoctoral studies, including graduate schools of public health, public policy and environment and sustainability. USask offers more than $15 million in graduate student funding including special scholarships for international students and Indigenous students.
USask has more than 100 student clubs, seven on-campus museums and art galleries, and a state-of-the-art Physical Activity Complex. There is plenty to do in Saskatoon every season, with numerous festivals and cultural experiences offered year round.
More than 150,000 proud alumni are spread across the world.
